Strong ally. I didn't have a name for it, so thank you (or thank Thea, I guess, who wrote it, and Leslie, who lived it, and God, who makes it all real).
Thank you sharing and beautifully explaining (especially as a lover of Jane Eyre and Kpop Demon Hunters). I love the term "strong ally". Excited for the upcoming book!
A few years ago, when preaching on Genesis 1 & 2, I wanted to elevate the beauty and importance of the role of the ezer given to Eve (usually translated helper). I've seen it demonstrated so wonderfully in our church, specifically by women coming alongside and being the strong support that was needed in times of trouble. There are things I could not and would not have done without them, whether it was a timely card, a selfless offering to do something together when I'd reached a dead end, being a patient sounding board, giving wise advice, or using that unique ability to see deeper than I can usually see. And if my words weren't enough, I pointed out the other times it is used throughout the Old Testament, particularly the psalms. One example: "But I am poor and needy; hasten to me, O God! You are my help (ezer!) and my deliverer..." None other than God Himself is an ezer. A high calling indeed. "In the image of God He created him; male and female He created them."

That was Leslie’s term! She got it from a Bible teacher whose name escapes me at the moment.
Oooh, good stuff. And now I have another book on my radar!
I loved K-Pop Demon Hunters more than I ever dreamed I would.

Love this, but also you guys have got to stop this incessant adding of books to my reading list! 😂😜. (In other words, keep on doing it!)
🥰
We make zero promises. 😉
That’s fair (mentally adjusting the book budget upwards). 😊
