“One thing we bookish friends do, once we love something, we immediately think of someone else who would love that story.”

Very true, Melissa! 😁

I have been so excited that my children have started to share books with me. It shows me that the cycle of book sharing is forming.

Bookish friends are the best kind of friends! My mom was instrumental in passing on to me a love of books, too, and I know I’ve passed it on to our six children to one degree or another. I’ve had my eyes opened to so many good books and authors through my bookish friends. But on the flip side, I recommended the Chronicles of Narnia to one of my dearest friends and she couldn’t get through even one book and didn’t enjoy the experience. Sigh. It took every ounce of Christian charity in me to keep her firmly on as a dear friend. 😄. I guess we can’t all be bookish. Thank you for a delightful essay!

You perfectly embodied the joy of connecting with others over books and stories! Honestly, there’s something unique and beautiful about it.
