Writing quotes....thanks for asking. I recently responded to a thread on Notes on Substack re: poets mentioning politics then went digging for this quote--it rings true right now.
“Politics can be the graveyard of the poet. And only poetry can be his resurrection.” Langston Hughes (1964)
This is a good reminder. God blessed rest by His own participation in rest. It's a precious gift. You've brought to mind how the Psalm says He gives to His beloved in sleep.
Isaiah says 'in quietness and rest you shall be saved.' Sweet comfort.
I get this! It’s a reassuring reminder after a summer of mental pouring out—makes sense why I haven’t had the bandwidth to write.

This really resonated with me. And I was so happy to see your name on it.
This is so good and so timely for me. Thanks so much for sharing these important thoughts, Sam!
Once heard a pastor say:
“Pray yourself full, preach yourself empty.”
This puts words to my feelings and gives me hope! 💛
Thanks for this reminder!

This "do less" is an EO idea. It seems to make sense, finding freedom in obedience to Christ ec.
Good words. Thank you, Sam!
