Always Christie and Sayers, but I've recently reread all the Brother Cadfael books by Ellis Peters. There is a predictability to them, but there is also interesting history, complex characters, and an overarching understanding of scripture as it was known in the mid-1100's, interpreted by the author in the 20th century.
When I try to think of a favourite mystery book, way too many come to mind! The Wall by Mary Roberts Rinehart, He Who Whispers by John Dickson Carr, Wildfire at Midnight by Mary Stewart, Tour de Force by Christianna Brand, Sleeping Murder by Agatha Christie. I'll stop now... Loved listening to Katie's book, and I can't wait to read the full thing!

Exactly what I was going to say ☺️
"Great minds in the same rut" - especiallly since it was you that sent me back to reread all the Bro Cadfael books.
